Tour 4

The house was designed and built to be inhabited. I wanted to live in it. However, it began to progressively attract attention at a time when Villa de Leyva became touristy. Living in the house became too challenging, because I would suddenly run into people who came in without asking for permission. Imagine going to take a shower and suddenly bumping into a crowd of people wanting to get in.

That’s how it started shifting, from the home it originally was meant to be, into the “tourist attraction” we may now describe it as.

La maison a été faite pour y habiter, je voulais y vivre. Elle a commencé à attirer l’attention et cette villa est devenue touristique. C’était trop difficile d’y vivre parce qu’ on rencontrait des gens qui s’approchaient sans permission; par exemple, – lorsque on allait aux toilettes pour prendre une douche – on finissait par trouver une foule de visiteurs qui voulaient entrer.

Ainsi, petit à petit, elle est passée d’un logement à une attraction touristique, pour ainsi dire.

Das Haus wurde eigentlich gebaut, um darin zu leben. Ich wollte es auch bewohnen, aber es erregte immer mehr Aufmerksamkeit und dieser Ort entwickelte sich zu einem Touristenziel. Dadurch wurde es extrem schwierig, hier zu leben. Ständig traf man auf Leute, die ohne Erlaubnis hereinkamen, um es sich anzusehen. Wenn man auf dem Weg ins Bad war, um zu duschen, stieß man plötzlich auf eine ganze Schar von Besuchern, die ins Haus wollten. So hat es sich nach und nach von selbst von einem Wohnhaus in eine – nennen wir es mal – „Touristenattraktion“ verwandelt.

La casa è stata progettata e costruita per essere abitata. Volevo viverci. Tuttavia, ha cominciato a attirare sempre più attenzione in un periodo in cui Villa de Leyva è diventata una meta turistica. Vivere nella casa è diventato troppo difficile, perché improvvisamente mi trovavo di fronte a persone che entravano senza chiedere il permesso. Immagina di andare a fare la doccia e di trovarti improvvisamente di fronte a una folla di persone che vuole entrare.

Così è cominciato a cambiare, da essere la casa che originariamente doveva essere, a diventare l'”attrazione turistica” che potremmo ora descrivere.

Het huis was ontworpen en gebouwd om in te wonen. Ik wilde er zelf wonen. Echter, het begon geleidelijk aan aandacht te trekken op een moment dat Villa de Leyva toeristisch werd. Wonen in het huis werd te uitdagend, omdat ik plotseling mensen tegenkwam die binnenkwamen zonder toestemming te vragen. Stel je voor dat je naar de douche gaat en plotseling een menigte mensen tegenkomt die erin willen.

Zo begon het te verschuiven, van het thuis dat het oorspronkelijk bedoeld was te zijn, naar de “toeristische attractie” zoals we het nu zouden kunnen beschrijven.

Dom został zaprojektowany i zbudowany do zamieszkania. Chciałem w nim mieszkać. Jednak zaczął przyciągać uwagę w miarę jak Villa de Leyva stała się miejscem turystycznym. Życie w domu stało się zbyt trudne, ponieważ niespodziewanie natykałem się na ludzi, którzy wchodzili bez pytania o zgodę. Wyobraź sobie idąc pod prysznic i nagle napotykając tłum ludzi, którzy chcą się dostać do środka.

Tak zaczęło się przesuwanie od domu, który pierwotnie miał być miejscem zamieszkania, do “atrakcji turystycznej”, jaką teraz możemy go opisać.

A casa foi feita para ser habitada. Eu queria morá-la porém, como começou a chamar atenção e este município se tornou turístico, ficou muito difícil morar ali, porque sempre havia pessoas entrando para conhecê-la sem permissão.

No final, eu acabava indo ao banheiro para tomar banho e me deparava com um monte de visitantes querendo entrar. Então, pouco a pouco, a própria casa foi deixando de ser uma moradia para se tornar um “”atrativo turístico””, digamos assim.
